     Alison Grieve was born circa Mar 1720 Dirleton, ELN, SCT.2 She was baptized on 27 Mar 1720 at Dirleton, East Lothian; entry reads Thos: Grieve and his wife Margaret fforest had a D: B: called Alison Witt: John and Jas: Grieves.2 She married Thomas Runciman, son of Robert Runciman (m. Janet Sinclair) and Janet Sinclair, on 14 Nov 1746 in the Par. of Innerwick, ELN, SCT; entry for Novr 14th reads: Thomas Runciman in Thornton & Alison Grieve in the parish of Auldhamstocks gave up their names to be proclaimed Caur for the bridegroom John Clawson & for the bride James Gowany (also indexed for 5th Nov in Oldhamstocks.)1,3,4,5
Although Alison is "of Auldhamstocks" when she and Thomas married that doesn't necessarily mean she was born there.
At least one tree has Alison as born 1712 at Oldhamstocks, dtr of Patrick GRIEVE & Beatrix MASSONS.
The Alison shown here is a better age match to the Thomas son of Robert, and to have a son Peter in 1756 (age 36 rather than 44).
Although we have very few baptisms to go by to see whether of not they'd heard of what we know as the Scottish naming pattern, a first son Robert fits Thomas' father and a second son Thomas fits this one for Alison.6,7,2
