(circa 1815 - Jun 1875)
IntroThere has to be a connection to this chap. it seems way too much of a coincidence that there's a Richard born Scotland at the same Church in Buenos Aires as Robert Inglis (Peel) Runciman. However, his stated age must mean that the relationship might be uncle, or cousin, rather than a direct one. There are rumours of a Richard Runciman as a connection to one or other of the Michigan families.
So if anyone has a Richard they've lost or have a home for, I'd love to hear from them.2
BDMsRichard Runciman was born circa 1815 SCT.1
Richard Runciman died in Jun 1875 Buenos Aires, ARG.1 He was buried on 20 Jun 1875 from St Andrews Scots Ch, Buenos Aires, ARG, Richard RUNCIMAN, 60, b SCT.1
SummaryA possible candidate for this Richard Richard has now been found in the family of William of Crail, but the birth year from age at death doesn't quite gel.
In Bootle in 1854 the baptism of a Richard, son of a Richard, engineer, with children b. Sct then Eng, led to the Richard born Dirleton, East Lothian in 1822, son of William & Jean (COCKBURN) RUNCIMAN.
The only corroboration of this id is that census info shows wife Margaret as marr. in 1871, widow in 1881, and over the years shown as wife of a seaman, or engineer.
The snag is that this one in Buenos Aires is thought to have been born abt 1815.3
