     Alexander Runciman was assumed to have died circa 1770 ?Dunbar, ELN, Date derived from: eldest known child William bap. 1731; an Alexander is witnessing baptisms of his assumed grandchildren up to 1770 (with a later bap. 1773 at Belhaven not having an Alexander as a witness); the other Alexanders in East Lothian not being of an age to be likely witnesses in this time period.3,4,5,6

     It is possible that Alexander Runciman witnessed the baptism of Alexander Runciman on 10 Feb 1751 at Dunbar, East Lothian; Ja. RUNCIMAN & Eliz. LYLE had Alexr. baptised. Wit. Alexr. RUNCIMAN, Tho. RUNCIMAN (assumed to be father/brother, or possibly both siblings?)8
     It is possible that Alexander Runciman witnessed the baptism of Christian Runciman on 10 May 1760 at Dunbar, East Lothian; Wm. RUNSIMAN & Janet ALLAN had Christian baptised. Wit. Al. RUNCEMAN, Geo. ALLAN (indexed on SctP as 1761.)9,10

     It is possible that Alexander Runciman witnessed the baptism of Catherine Runciman on 31 Mar 1765 at Dunbar, East Lothian; Wm. RUNCIMAN & Janet ALLAN had Catherine baptised. Wit. Alexr & Ja. RUNCIMAN (assumed to be either father/brother, or both siblings.)14,4
