The following map is only indicative of where some of the UK based RUNCIMANs were born (all time periods, but data more complete for pre 1900s).
It does not come from a methodical extraction of births from official records but is a simple extraction of Lorna's RUNCIMAN research, grouping up all people born as R*N*M*N* who have had some record indicating a birth in the UK: Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland (North and South).
Unfortunately such maps are only easily producible for the UK at the moment, worldwide maps need more knowledge of other mapping software, eg Google Earth - coming!
